  I bought a new Yaris Port Hybrid this year. Back in 1974 when a school friend’s dad rocked up in a funny little thing - a rare thing too in the UK, a Toyota (Corolla) - having chopped in his Ford for it….well, we all laughed at it.<br>“You’ll all be driving them at some stage in your life: they’re here to stay and they’re great.”I advised him I’d not be seen dead in one.<br>So now I’m on my 7th Toyota, big ones, fast ones and small ones. All without exception 100% trouble free.<br>I’ve had Fiat, Ford, Alfa, Volvo, Audi, VW, Citroen, Lancia, Renault, even a Triumph way back.<br>All had issues, routine ones. <br>The Toyotas, nothing at all beyond routine servicing.<br>The latest Toyota has a 10 year warranty and is backed by the best dealer experience always.<br>Damn it… my friends dad was right.

  I love my 3 yo Honda Civic eHev. I have always changed cars after 3 years, but this is my first Honda and I wont be changing it any time soon!

  Japan 7, Germany Nil.<br><br>If I had the cash to splash on a new car then Mazda 2 Hybrid and Suzuki Swift would be on my test drive list. My 2018 Hyundai i10 has been very good though.

  I&apos;m disabled and sadly had to come back to the UK in 2019. I bought a 1.4vvti Corolla hatchback on a 2006 plate, with 2 previous owners and FSH Toyota main dealer. <br><br>I&apos;ve had it&apos;s for over 6yrs, and it&apos;s only ever failed its MOT on minor advisories for the most part, never cost more than £470 and that was a mechanic ripping me off on a full set of discs and pads, due to them messing it up putting them in earlier in the year, by not adjusting the handbrake properly which stayed on a bit, costing me a lot of money in fuel and of course brakes! <br><br>Either way, after working in the &apos;Trade&apos; myself, I&apos;d only buy Japanese cars.

  The only 1 not for me is the honda. The rest i looked at was interesting. The yaris &nbsp;cross hybrid and mx 5 are on top of the list for different reasons

  I &nbsp;live in Canada &nbsp;and own 3 vehicles. I have a 2019 Ford Explorer . So far with about 14000 on the odometer, the vehicles is reliable. <br>However, I also own a Mazda CX3 and since buying new in 2017, it has had nothing more than normal maintenance . We have to deal with salt over here.<br>I also have a 2008 Mazda MX5 Miata with an automatic transmission. &nbsp;The vehicle has 128,000 km on the odometer. It has never been driven in the winter and stored under a cover during the cold season. My mechanic services the vehicle and he recently told me apart from a little wear on the seat. The mechanic said the car is basically in brand new condition. <br>you cannot beat Japanese vehicles.......
