Mario Galaxy’s deaths are scary, in particular the giant black sand holes ... It is terrible to see Mario sinking in the dark and reaching his hand out before suffocating in the black pit.

The one in Odyssey was so creepy because of the way his eyes loses its life because he was losing air.

I like how both Super Mario Bros. 3 clips as well as New Super Mario Bros. 2 both feature a Piranha Plant looking at Mario and going "Well, that happened.", followed by a Goomba doing the same in NSMBU

Quicksand is one of the most deadly obstacles ever in the Mario franchise. When Mario touches quicksand, he can get back up by jumping rapidly. However, some quicksand might drain him instantly.

Mario has had many drowning problems with quicksand. Luckily, there are easy ways to avoid being sucked in.

One way is to ride on the Koopa Shell from Mario 64. Here, he will simply surf in the sand without getting sucked in. Mario must be very careful though, as he can hit an obstacle on accident. If this happens, the Shell will be destroyed and Mario will fall.

Another way to avoid getting sucked in is by using the wing cap from the same game. Mario will simply fly gracefully over the sand. Just watch the wing cap doesn’t run out (:
