  Argentine here: This interview is huge. Not sure how many realize. Batistuta is a VERY reserved guy and on top of that speaking in English... Massive win for Ferdinand here as an interviewer.

  I am from Sweden and Gabriel Batistuta was my childhood idol! Absolutely fantastic player. I had his jersey from Fiorentina all the time playing football. Still is in my opinion the best ever. He had charisma and legendary status and put him over messi and cr7. He was oldschool in the same breath as R9.

  Remember, this man was arguably the best in the world, he could&apos;ve joined ANYONE but he stayed with Fiorentina when they got relegated and got them back to Serie A. Truly a one-of-a-kind striker, the way he would bang the ball in with such power and accuracy was unlike anyone else. Was great to see Rio&apos;s genuine love of the golden age of Serie A too.

  Really nice to see an old-school Argentine legend speaking fluent English. Loved hearing those classic Serie A stories. Gen Z will probably never know how incredible the Italian league was back then. Thanks, Rio!
