One thing I love about the portrayal of John in this movie, is that once he actually has irrefutable proof that everything his mother told him his entire life is TRUE, his entire personality shifts. In the first half of the film, he's a grieving kid, dealing with the fact that his mother, that he does love, is "crazy", because obviously she is, and now he has to live in the foster system, and be alone. He's angry, scared, and lost without any idea of what he's supposed to do with his life, he's having to figure it out as he goes. But once he learns "no, you really ARE the savior of humanity", it's like a switch flips in his head. He becomes very goal oriented, focused, determined, and establishes the "You don't kill people!' policy. Because now he feels responsible for EVERY human life around him. It's like he was always a very empathetic person, but was afraid to express it because of what he thought was a bullshit story he'd been fed his whole life. But now, the veil has been lifted as they say, and he's very human-centric with his outlook. Save everyone, stop the machines, help people in every way he can. He refuses to leave anyone behind, and mourns the loss of anyone near him, especially if they are giving up their lives to help his goals. It's such a good shift for the character in my opinion, and the actor plays it SO well, for such a young age.

Every movie that's tried to copycat the badassness of Sarah Connor misses her full character arc - her uncontrollable trauma responses, the way she unconsciously adopts the tactics of the thing that hurt her and gets to within an inch of becoming a Terminator herself, then steps back from the brink, breaks down, and recovers her humanity. It's biceps PLUS vulnerability that makes her legendary.

FUN FACT: one of the things that makes Robert Patrick so scary is when he runs, he doesn't look like he's straining AT ALL. No heavy breathing and he's sprinting like a goddamn cheetah. He trained hard and learned to run like that while breathing only through his nose. If you want something fun where he projects a similar creepy inhuman vibe, check out THE FACULTY. Another 90s great with a cast of ringers. Him, Elijah Wood, Josh Hartnettt, Clea Duvall, Bebe Neuwwirth, Famke Janssen...

I think Arnold spin cocking the shotgun is the most badass moment in cinema history

The stunt man for the highway chopper scenes is Chuck Tamburro. He flew helicopters in Vietnam and has also been a stunt pilot in Predator, True Lies, Gone in 60 Seconds, etc.
He plays the pilot the T-1000 told to "Get Out" and yes, he actually flew that helicopter UNDER the bridge.

8:33 Robert Patrick was that fast actually. They had to keep reshooting the scene where he was chasing John Connor on foot because Robert kept catching up with the dirt bike.

Fun fact: Yes, they did all the stunts with the helicopter. Even the part when it goes under the bridge. Insanity!
