Roomettes are not only for sleeping, they are for unbothered time during the day as well.

A note for newcomers. The majority of those photos are NOT from Amtrak trains. Just sayin'. Although you mentioned that two roomettes gives you two windows and the bedroom only one, when it comes to a scenic route that extra window on the other side of the train makes a huge difference in the enjoyment of the trip. If you can live with out your loved one for a night or two, then take two roomettes across the hall from each other. You can talk in a normal tone of voice and see each other just fine. When great scenery appears you move about four feet and your sitting across from your loved one and oohing and aahing with them. If you have to get up at night you won't disturb your sweetie! All of your advice though was spot on. Thanks.!

Thank you!! Purchasing a roomette for only part of the trip when you plan to sleep, and purchase a coach seat for the daytime is great advice. 👍

When you move to Coach, you have to expect to have a seat mate. You may or may not have one.

What route is there a full size double bed in the Accessible room or sleeper? Those were not Amtrak rooms.

Wow, around <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMc0rkFpXJs&t=590">9:50</a> begins a cavalcade of photos that aren't EVEN anything Amtrak. Really not sure why the creator would pollute an otherwise useful video with all that. Jeez-o-peats.

One thing that this does NOT bring up is that the roomettes that have NOT been "upgraded" have a toilet in the room. That can be important to those that get up to "go" the majority of the nights. Is there any way to be assured of getting one of the old style roomettes?
