  El Chapo’s first prison break wasn’t actually like that. The laundry cart story was something the government invented to justify their incompetence and corruption as if el chapo was a mastermind. In reality he left through the front door of the prison disguised as a cop. As a Mexican I don’t find his prison break stories very amusing, he did it all through bribery and corruption. He is not the mastermind the media has portrayed; in a rotten corrupt system you can do whatever you want with the money and power he had.

  They missed the best part of the story. The prison had underground monitoring systems. El Chapo paid somebody in the government to start construction around the prison so that way they had to be turned off and nobody could detect the tunnels.
