If you look at old manor houses or plantation houses you will see that most had belvederes (Italian for lovely view). They were basically small rooms at the top of the house with windows that opened. The heat rose into that room. Open the windows and open the bottom floor windows and you have a natural convention system where the hot air in the belvedere sucks in the cool evening air from the lower floor.
