And here I was, thinking I was smart for figuring out an "impossible" problem.....

Another brilliant video that goes well beyond mindless calculation.

Hey funny thing all of my tests are full of impossible questions so I should really get 100 on all of them.

A very good lesson, to always check the domain! Thank you!

Another way to find the error is to determine the area of each sector when x = 6. Each sector is 6.75 x pi which is greater that 18 (approximately 21.2), so the area of the combined sectors is around 42.2, meaning the rectangle has to have a negative area.

As a Sri Lankan, i didn't think of that one either while i was doing that question. Good to know.

There was an impossible rhombus question that I gave to my father who was an engineer (A very specialized engineer for a Belgian company) and he failed it. Being an engineer, he tried to build a physical model with no luck 😅<br>And that wasn't a domain error, that was a geometric constraint error.<br>So, the good answer was "no rhombus with those measurements exist."<br>Instead of being funny, it created a dispute 😅

Great job!<br><br>I've also found some problems from teachers to have wrong answers.<br><br>Always good to have someone double-check your work.

I knew x = 6 was fishy because according to the diagram, y > x but that can't be possible for x = 6 because then the rectangle's area would be greater than the 36 given as the total area of the shape. I know that technically the diagram could just be way out of scale but i was suspicious from the jump
