  it seems like medical students of the past learned a lot more practical things in medical school, but nowadays, the volume of basic sciences is immense and the material that is testable grows and grows so people are just studying primarily to past us because that’s what gets you the certification to practice. These principles are a lot more useful in residency.

  I get you doctor, but sadly, many times that’s not possible. I’m studying medicine in Spain and in my university we don’t have time to learn, only to memorise the days before the exams. We don’t have material time to study or revise during the course, they fill all our schedule with mandatory useless things, everyday, to the point that many days we don’t have any hour to study or revise and many days less than 2h (if you want to sleep at least 7h!). The volume and level of detail is crazy, we can only survive cramming.

  Think like a detective when you take a history. Then examine the patient for clues and verification. Then do tests in crime lab.<br>Then treat the problem.

  in my preclinical years (2020) ) I used to combine pathogenesis and pathophysiology in same page , thinking about abnormal /physio/structure/pathways(biochemistry) That was a rough way.

  From South Africa - the structure of my medical school was absolutely shit, no order, no organisation, disorganised resources and poor source material provided - a good source = a good doctor, it should not be our responsibility to create textbook and study them while in med school

  this is so good, i wish we had more time to actually understand the human body, in my uni we have 3 exams every week during the whole semester after the fisrt two weeks, it&apos;s insane
