Scanning for Risk Factors...Chao Phraya Dam - Upstream Water Mass...Repeating Impact on Bangkok Interview with Dr. Somkiat Prachamwong, former Secretary-General of the National Water Resources Office (NWRO) On the program "Sharing the Hot News" October 1, 2026, on FM100.5 Hosted by Khajornkit Phunphai and Chutipop Ngaokanchanakul 📌 In-depth analysis of the flood situation! Scanning for risk factors at the Chao Phraya Dam, increased water discharge, and the impact of upstream water on Bangkok and surrounding areas? Special interview with Dr. Somkiat Prachamwong, former Secretary-General of the National Water Resources Office (NWRO) and former Director-General of the Royal Irrigation Department, via MCOT News FM 100.5, analyzing the upstream water mass situation and the amount of water released from the Chao Phraya Dam. And strategies for coping before the next round of heavy rain. 💡 Key points from the video: Chao Phraya Dam water release level: Gradually increasing water release in stages to 2,400 - 2,500 cubic meters per second to maintain the safety of the dam and upstream areas. Affected areas: Communities along the Chao Phraya River outside the flood barriers, from Chai Nat, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, and some areas in Bangkok. More serious risk factors than upstream water: Heavy rainfall in the area (accumulated rainfall) and accelerated drainage from major canals before the next round of rain. Recommendations: Urgent inspection of flood barriers, operating water pumps at 100% capacity, and unified coordination and command across provinces are necessary. ⏰ Timestamps (Content Categories): [00:00] - Update on increased Chao Phraya Dam water release.
