BERLIN: Paukenschlag! Eralp war bei Roter Hilfe! Verein gilt als linksextremistische Oganisation

BERLIN: Bombshell! Eralp was a member of Red Aid! The organization is considered a left-wing extremist group. Elif Eralp, the Left Party's parliamentary group leader in Berlin and top candidate in the upcoming state elections, was a member of the Red Aid organization for several years. She resigned last year, the party's state branch confirmed to dpa. The "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" had previously reported on this. The Berlin Office for the Protection of the Constitution (Verfassungsschutz) mentions Red Aid in its latest annual report as by far the largest left-wing extremist organization in Berlin. The report states that not all members of the organization pursue anti-constitutional goals. However, the organization's and its leaders' opposition to the free democratic order is a reason for its surveillance by the Verfassungsschutz. According to Bjoern Tielebein, the Left Party's state managing director, Eralp joined Red Aid while studying law in Hamburg. “Because she wanted to support people who are committed to left-wing and social issues, even if they themselves lack the necessary financial resources, by providing them with legal assistance,” he stated. “She was a passive member for years and resigned last year, even before the party’s lead candidacy, due to differing political views.” Her membership had always been transparent on her website and that of the House of Representatives. Red Aid sees itself as a left-wing protection organization According to its statutes, Red Aid sees itself as a “left-wing protection and solidarity organization” for all those who are persecuted because of their political activities, as mentioned by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution in its 2025 report. “It provides material and political support to those affected by criminal investigations. The sole determining factor is the left-wing political motivation behind the act.” After the Left Party’s election victory, Eralp declared her intention to become Governing Mayor of Berlin. In the state parliament election on September 20, the party emerged as the strongest force by a wide margin with 25.7 percent of the vote. #worldnewschannel #berlin #left #eralp #redaid Subscribe to the WELT Network Reporter Channel dienetzreporter WELT News Channel weltvideotv WELT Documentary Channel weltdoku WELT Podcast Channel weltpodcast The WELT News Livestream http://bit.ly/2fwuMPg Top News on WELT.de http://bit.ly/2rQQD9Q The Media Library on WELT.de http://bit.ly/2Iydxv8 WELT News Channel on Instagram https://bit.ly/IGWELTTV WELT on Instagram http://bit.ly/2X1M7Hk A note from us: Due to the high volume of inappropriate and offensive comments, we are currently unable to allow comments.
