  If lawns used to be a status symbol for being rich enough to not farm, then gardens today should be a status symbol for being resourceful and diligent enough to not go to the groceries so often!

  Im always amazed at how small a yard looks when its just lawn vs how gigantic it looks packed with fruit trees/shrubs and vegetables 😄😄🌱🌲🌿

  In the coming years, it is going to become increasingly important for people to produce as much food of their own as possible. &nbsp;I am so grateful to my late Mum &amp; late Aunt &amp; Uncle for teaching me self sufficiency from a very young age. &nbsp;My Aunt was in the Land Arny until she was old enough to join the forces - &amp; spent the second half of the war as a codebreaker at Bletchley Park.<br><br>We grow most of our own fruit &amp; vegetables, &amp; have produced all our own poultry &amp; waterfowl eggs for the last 15 years - as well as a good % of meat from excess cocks, drakes &amp; ganders.

  When we bought our home 2 years ago, there was only a red maple tree on the east property line. Now, we have raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, grapes, strawberries, goji berries, rhubarb, asparagus herbs, and veggies. I still have more room to expand....😊
