I can relate to this story. At my height I was taking 30 - 80's a day. Went through the usual progression. Ended up on the streets of Baltimore copping heroin, lost my house, my job, my family, the whole 9. By the grace of God I was able to go to treatment in Arizona and have been clean since 2006. All my friends are dead from fentanyl. Drugs are bad kids. Don't do em.

This might be your best interview.  This guy was articulate, you weren't pulling teeth for the story, he was entertaining, humourous and he was ACCOUNTABLE for what he had done.  He also has a happy ending, a life he's happy with, proud of, and he's out there making a difference and using his experience and intelligence to help others.  This one is GOLD.

I lived in Florida and became addicted due to being in pain from 2 car accidents. I started off on Vicodin in 1999 and moved on to Roxy 30's which I was taking 20 a day. I was taking Xanax to but I only took them at night to sleep. At one point I was getting prescribed 280 Roxy's, 120 lortabs, 90 soma and 90 xanax. Before the data base I was doctor shopping too. When the data base went into effect I went down to 1 doctor and was getting 8mg Dilaudid and was taking 8 a day. I finally decided I was sick of being sick so I went to a methadone clinic but only let myself get to 50mg a day. I was off methadone after 6 months. I am proud to say I have been clean for 5 years now. Luckily I am not a felon. I have had a DUI, not from alcohol but from being on opiates. I could have been in this same situation as this doctor. I made it 20 years as an addict to opiates without getting a felony. I am very grateful for that. 🙏

OMG! Amazing interview. This Dr. spoke in such a down to earth manner. No cocky behavior, no big words. I really enjoyed his life experience. So straight forward. THANK U! 🙏

It’s so funny-when I was like 6-my pediatrician stitched my head closed (he opened the office after hours) after my mom called him bcs my friend dropped a full length mirror over my head. I will never forget it-that would never happen today lol

I’ve taken an OC and it didn’t make me feel like so many ppl describe and I’m so grateful for that. This was a great interview. The guest is a good talker without all the ommm’s and “you know what I mean” every other second

Opioid addiction doesn't discriminate. I'm finally 2 years clean off of morphine and hard opioids.
