I remember watching this- I was 28; and the Holocaust was not new information for me; but I think this opened the floodgates of acknowledgement for a new generation; Holocaust education, films followed one after the other--until Schindler's List, perhaps the most harrowing. Sadly now Holocaust education is falling behind, and as survivors pass from us in increasing numbers the danger of forgetting increases too. Maybe this on YT can renew it. It isn't perfect, but it is something.

This and Roots had a huge effect on me as a teenager. You can be taught a lot through 'entertainment'

I watched this min series as a teen in 1978,  at 61 I'm having a harder time watching it now because of the political climate we're living in now.   It's been 80 years since WWll and this hatred is being glorified again, we've learned nothing.

I was 15 when I first watched this miniseries, and I couldn’t understand why an entire nation would choose this dark path. Now I’m 63, and sadly I now know how easily it can happen.

No movie beats Schindler’s List. The couple was another good one about this era. The horror they woke up to everyday.

I saw this on TV when I was 13. It was my introduction to the Holocaust. I was shocked and horrified. It had a lasting effect on me.
