  Fun fact, the lake freighter named Augustus B. Wolvin was nicknamed “the yellow kid” based on this comic. because of its unique yellow paint scheme at the time. The Wolvin was launched in 1904.

  Wow,  your narrative has always been engaging/informative. But the production quality/value of this episode was Super, Man!  My favorite panel comic was Calvin and Hobbes, and my favorite single panel cartoon was The Far Side.

  I’ve restored a few of the original artworks of The Yellow Kid. Astonishing character, art, writing. Precedes Alfred E. Neuman.

  While I think that Calvin & Hobbes by Bill Watterson is probably the high point of the art form, Gary Larson's The Far Side was my favorite strip when it was still being published in the 1980s and 1990s. This episode is good--I'd love to watch one on Windsor McKay.

  Man, that's pretty awesome! I'm waiting to see this big project. I too, am a big comic nerd. As far as comic strips go, I HAVE to say my favorite are the Archie Comics. I LOVE those! That's the only comic strip I actually go out of my way and purchase a book of.
