Andor is so good at making the Galactic Empire feel like an actual fascist bureaucracy that I almost forget its founder is a cackling space sorcerer who zaps people with lightning and is obsessed with necromancy.

My favourite part about Andor is how Palpatine is a character but never speaks a word or makes an appearance

I think the themes of Andor are embodied perfectly in Luthen’s speech: “I burn my life to make a sunrise that I know I’ll never see”. It gives a really good insight into what the Rebellion is and what they have suffered under the Empire. Essentially showing fascism can’t be overcome by the rules and submission is no longer an option for them. There is only war. We see it with Andor’s arc of trying to run from the Empire to Mon Mothma sacrificing everything with her daughter and her personal life and secretly funding the rebellion while keeping up the appearance of being on the side of the Empire, even saying “I learned from Palpatine”. Truly phenomenal show

Analyzing Evil: Anton Arcane from DC Comics. A man so vile, he was kicked out of Hell and put Joker in a coma upon returning to Earth.
