Oh wow, just realized I accidentally said 130 elephants when I meant to say 130,000 elephants in Botswana's Chobe national Park 🤣🤣🤣 sorry about that

"..there is no perfect country. If there is, don't move there. You'll ruin it."
I really like this line

I'm South African and have worked in projects in Botswana. Good video.

Apart from the diamonds, Botswana is a leader in cattle farming and veterinary science. They are export foot-and-mouth disease vaccines to South Africa, which in a bit ashamed of, because we used to be a leader in that field. Kudos to our neighbours for making giant leaps forward.

I think Barbs omitted one crucial thing. He started touching it, but then completely abandoned it.

Seretse Khama, obviously after marrying a white woman, heavily promoted peaceful coexistence with white people. Even the Botswana flag features a big black strip with two white strips beside to show how Botswana is eager to establish this peaceful coexistence side by side
He did everything he could to stop racial tensions in Botswana. He was really open minded person way ahead of his time

It's a unique mind numbing thing when you live in a nation that has so much social change within one generation. My parent's generation basically received little to no education but now we have locally educated doctors and engineers within a generation. It's honestly bizarre. We are thankful to Seretse.

I am a motswana. Thank you for this. Another thing is Botswana has managed to change parties after over 50 years peacefully. No refusing to step down. No civil war.

I think you forgot to add that Seretse Khama, because of that story with his wife, never tried a "revenge racism" in free Botswana against white people, instead he believed in racial equality. It helped a lot because many very needed experts at that time were white

Seretse Khama is one of the greatest leaders of the 20th century for all the right reasons.
