The main premise of the story: that the gravity machines weren't rated is not explained. It was clear that it wasn't going to be. I gave up listening.

Hmm, the engineer part of me can't help but express a major issue with the system the story is circling around: if you crank up a power plant that is running at 60% to satisfy the energy demand of the station to 100%, the additional energy needs to be used, stored, converted in some way. It ain't no engine revving from a tap or two on the gas pedal. And since there is even a time frame given (half an hour), imagine letting a F1 engine at full throttle with no load and no electronic or other kind of limiter. Off, on, redline, rapidly expanding cloud of fragmented engine parts, oil and coolant, each one traveling as fast as any engineer would love to go, but in any possible direction at the same time. Not in 30 minutes, but in less than three seconds from the engine catching to rapid decomposition.

Never found the point of the plot. Kept talking about “significance” that was left nebulous - all puns intended. It feels like “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
