I’m 50yrs old and as a kid I didn’t have many friends, Was bullied and made fun of for being fat. My Middle School and High School years were terrible, but I knew that if I could get to the weekend I would be able to watch Dale win that Sunday money!! Years later to 2001 it devastated me when he was killed, Still not over it!

25-Yrs later, I'm watching this, with watery eyes. And my heart sank again with that announcement, we've lost Dale Earhardt. And, that Jeff Gordan speech. How NASCAR fans, we all stayed strong. I loved Dale Sr, so much. And Jr, is my favorite driver. Jr's won so many sentimental races. This was the 1st. Then again after we were attacked on 911 @ Dover.
His dad's wrangler #3 car at Daytona.
He won on father's day in 2012' coming out of a big slump, in his all black 88 car, he designed. Another Daytona 500 win in 2014' When the RCR #3 returned. And Jr had that freaky big black Piece of tape, that blew onto his grille?? And like his dad he usually dominated Daytona. And still holds four straight wins, at Talladega, starting again in 01'
R.I.P. Dale Earnhardt. We miss you! Jr, your dad's very proud of you! God Bless our Country! USA 🇺🇸 ❤️ 🐐 🙏

Those moments at Rockingham, Atlanta and the return to Daytona were beautiful moments that will inevitably bring even the hardest person to tears. After the tragic passing of Dale Earnhardt, NASCAR needed to steady the ship amidst the sadness, and with these events, they did just that

10:000-Oh, Dale. It’s not selfish at all to feel grief.

#3 was my family on Sundays.. Seems after that everything and every one died off ... I feel like many American families felt the same. Home made cooked meals and watching Dale was everything....

10 years old and that ending of the 500 is burned into my mind on the same level of something else that happened a few months later……”just hope dales okay, i guess he’s alright isn’t he?” I’ll never forget those words
