Britain never had "the balance of power" as a goal. They wanted to control everything, more than Napoleon. And the reason why they feared Russia is because their revolution – unlike the French – disempowered the ultra wealthy, who, in "western countries", are the ones owning everything and dictating state policy. The British (and not only them) feared other countries may follow the Russian example, essentially ending the "rule of the wealthy".

Let me explain: The Great Powers were afraid of Russia's strengthening in the Pacific Ocean. For this reason, the United States and Britain actively supplied Japan with weapons and military technology. Britain did not even allow the Black Sea Fleet to sail through the Suet Canal, even though the arrival of the Black Sea Fleet in time could turn the whole war around.

Drew heavily underestimates Britain's fear of Russia 😂 Russia was never realistically going to take Persia without Britain getting involved

Я не думаю, что до революции 1917г , европейские страны боялись Россию. Правящие верхушки европейских государств, в том числе и Россия, были родсвенниками ( династический брак).
