For a non touristy "coffee shop", look for the word <i>konditori.</i> That's the Swedish tradition.

The "royal palace" is actually the government building and the "armory" is the royal palace.<br>I am happy you found Mariatorget, one of my favourite spots. 👍🙂

I have the best strategy for sleeping on flights... Don't do your packing in time. Start packing in the evening the day before your flight. Panic pack the majority of the night. Get at most 2 hours of sleep. When you get on the plane, you'll realize you're exhausted and pass out minutes after takeoff.

Just to clarify: the Royal Armoury (well worth a visit) is in the basement of the Royal Palace (which you called the Royal Armoury), and the building you pointed out as the Royal Castle is the Parliament. :)
