  When my grandfather took me to the Frick house (I was 8 years old) he explained it was his favorite museum in New York, than adding that it had been a private home.  As we toured the house i remember asking over and over, "this was somebody's house???"  It's the most incredible home you will ever see.

  9/23/26: After living there 50 years I moved out of Manhattan in 2016. But before I left I visited repeatedly The Frick Museum with its luxurious use of lawn on Fifth Avenue. But unfortunately, on my visits until last year the second floor was not open to the public -- and now it is and that should be great fun to see how the rooms are decorated.<br>The other thing I found interesting about this video is that they didn&apos;t mention that Ralph Lauren was awarded the Key to the City by Mayor Bloomberg for tearing down a nondescript modern building across the street from the Rhinelander Mansion which houses the Men&apos;s Department of Ralph Lauren to build the Women&apos;s Department directly across the street -- it&apos;s a stunning building that looks like it belongs in Paris and is worth the time to visit just to see the building itself.

  I am happy, that at least some families managed to preserve that magnificent houses! &nbsp;Because we have so many of them destroyed and abandoned! 😊
