  SNAGGING - Things I know I&apos;ve screwed up....I&apos;ll add as things come to light.<br><br>- It&apos;s been pointed out that the Olympus 22R (aka 320) was a turbo*jet* not a turbo*fan*. The confusion was was caused by the proposed Rolls Royce Medway was a turbofan and I&apos;m afraid I assumed no one would be stupid enough to replace a turbofan with a turbojet.....not quite sure why I assumed the MoA wouldn&apos;t make that kind of stupid decision. The first turbofan was the Rolls Royce Conway, which was also the first to have a reheat (afterburner in British)....my bad.<br><br>- Republic, not Republican...doh<br><br>- Various Americans can&apos;t cope with the way I say nuclear. I can neither eat, nor sleep, all is woe, lo how I rend my clothes and tear at my hair. Those making &quot;maybe you should learn how to say this word&quot; type comments are immensley irritating, and since I am not able to rub your nether regions with a Carolina Reaper, nor to apply a cattle prod to your forehead, an instant ban from the channel will have to suffice. <br><br>- Sandys is said Sands despite being spelt Sandys because....no idea. I did actually know this but had a rush of blood to the head.<br><br>- Boeing did produce two different fighter designs in the 1920s ans 1930s, the FB series ans the P-12. These were biplanes, and althought I will grant that technically correct is the best kind, they made so few and so long ago I&apos;m comfortable saying that Boeing had never produced a fighter except these. There was a monoplane, the P-26, which was built in 1934 and wasn&apos;t completely retired until 1957, but again, I am unconvinced the 818 were using the airframe as a model. <br><br>- there is a spelling mistake in a caption, it should read BOMARC, not whatever nonsense I put. Likewise I may have misspelled &apos;Cornell&apos; at one point

  In the late 1970s I was renting a decaying old farmhouse in the Mitta valley in north-east Victoria, Australia. A lovely quiet spot, near the very swimmable Mitta Mitta river. Well, quiet that is until the day when two RAAF F-111s came screaming down the valley at little more than tree top height at a stupendous rate of knots. I was outside in our veggie patch and the shock and noise was simply incredible, and every farm animal in the valley went completely nuts. Windows broke, fences were damaged by panicking animals, the whole shebang. However it turned out that our valiant flyboys had made a tiny boo boo, as the plan had been for them to fly down the Kiewa valley, not the Mitta. Now both river valleys are adjacent and at the speed they were doing it is not that surprising that they missed, as they had to fly over the Hume weir first and the slightest error in navigation would lead to the wrong starting point. Still, it created quite a fuss, as the people in the Kiewa valley were expecting it, whereas we were most definitely not.

  With about a 1,000 hrs flying low level (200-500 ft AGL) in a B52. &nbsp;I can absolutely attest to your description of what it&apos;s like to fly a B52 during a low level. &nbsp;I would add to the description with a little of my own experience. &nbsp;If you can imagine siting in a used port-a-potty, mounted to a flat bed trailer, driving 80 MPH on a desert dirt road full of port holes, in July or August.

  F-111 pilot here. &nbsp;The &apos;Vark returned to Vietnam for Operation Linebacker in 1972-73. &nbsp;4000 sorties in the most heavily defended areas, six combat losses. &nbsp;Throughout the Cold War, there simply was nothing to compare when it came to speed, range, payload and all-weather capability. &nbsp;<br><br>That aside, great presentation, funny, and fair in every respect.
