At the start he calls her mother and asks if the "plus one" invite still is there? Why would he have an invitation? Wouldn't he have been his then girlfriends plus one? And when he asked over the phone wouldn't the mother wonder immediately what was going on and called her daughter? Logic went down the drain from there.

Lesson learned! I went to Coachella a couple of times - so many girls, and so many bruises on those knees! What's that you say? Whenever a relationship gets serious, whether a girlfriend or a wife, it’s always advisable to complete a maintenance check weekly, if not quarterly: (1) check her knees for bruising and (2) check her back for any strange rashes. Bruising on her knees, or worse, rips and wear marks on her jeans' knees, is a telltale sign she's been slurping protein shakes (some might call them smoothies) from the Johnson tap, you know, the organic ones straight from the Johnson! Shaken, not stirred. The rash on her back is another tell, probably a rug rash from doing the horizontal mambo, but on someone else's rug! These are serious tells and should slam the door shut. Other, less serious tells might surface during the maintenance check, but these two strongly suggest any repairs would cost more than they’re worth.
