My favorite peice of lost VG media has gotta be the vertical slice demo for Pokemon Gold+Silver in 1997, two years before japanese release. It resembles generation 1 more than the released version, and it was lost for 21 years!

It kinda hurts how much of this is mostly Nintendo content considering how much Nintendo could theoretically gain from actually utilizing their backlog.

Incidentally, on a note somewhat related to the Satellaview, there was a nice archival of St.GIGA music leaked a few days back.

Finally an intro that doesn’t recap what lost media is.

Nice to see all the old videos in one long compilation. Can’t wait to do homework to this eventually.

I really hope we find that Sonic prototype one day. We already have loads of prototypes from the original trilogy (& Knuckles) and this one would be the cherry on top.

Is it weird to say that these are almost nostalgic to me. I remember watching some of these years ago.

I believe the "Long awaited" quote in the Super Kid Icarus blurb is just referencing the fact that it was a scarce Nintendo series with only two niche titles at the time, with fans looking forward to more. Looks like things haven't changed much decades later, hopefully Nintendo sees the success of Metroid Dread and brings back series like Kid Icarus, F-Zero and the like for more games.

Just coming here to see what people are saying about the Metroid Dread entry. Absolutely INSANE how they actually pulled thru and made it into a real game. Makes me happy asf❤️
