  2015 RAM 1500 5.7 Hemi. I use Valvoline 5w30 Restore and Protect, WIX filter, and do an engine additive treatment with a product called Pro-Ma. Bought this truck at 160,000 miles had multiple light ticking once it got warmed up. I initially changed the oil to Mobile 1 and WIX filter, It helped the tick but it still had it. Went 5,000 and changed to Valvoline 5W30 Restore and Protect because I tow with this vehicle. I added the PRO-MA product which has to be put in while running and then run for at least 30 minutes to get the vehicle parts coated with the product. I do 8,000 mile intervals because the additive is not cheap and I have to import it from Canada. When I did this procedure the ticks went completely away and the engine ran smoother. The ticking actually went away with just the Valvoline 5W30 Restore and Protect. After adding the additive I noticed that the oil pressure went down. Not sure why. The vehicle is at 173,000 miles now and I am going to do another oil change and see what happens. I'm not going to use the engine treatment this time to see how it does without it. Going to try the treatment every other change. Shooting for at least 250,000. We'll see what happens.

  09 Dodge Ram 1500 w/ hemi. 11 years using ol'railey 5w-20 full synthetic never had a problem 145k

  I bought a new 2022 1500 5.7 and have run The Pennzoil 5W-30 (PUP) after break in with no issues. I also run the Wix filters and change at every 5K. In AZ we see triple digit temps all summer, and the only time I get very little if any valve train noise is after it has sit for a day or two with no use, but when it does it is VERY brief (seconds) and goes away. The channel &quot; The Motor Oil Geek&quot; has a VERY good breakdown on this topic and is NOT AI driven, The guy lives here in AZ and I have spoken to him several times times regarding the Hemi and what oil and <br>weight to run. Check his channel out, lots of good information backed by empirical evidence.

  First oil change with Redline red gallon jug <a href="https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/15305">#15305</a>. 1100 miles in and my tick has gotten noticeable duller. Not gone, but better for sure.

  2019 E-Torque with 76,000 miles and &nbsp;5w/20 Castrol Edge every 5K miles. No oil related issues to date. Carquest blue oil filter( american made only ). Will be switching to Mopar MO339 when depleted as the CQ is no longer made in America. Have never used an additive. May begin using lucas for added protection. Tow a 7K lb camper several times per year.

  I drive a 2017 ram &nbsp;1500 crew cab 2 wd 5.7 with Castrol GTX extended life and a Wiix filter at every oil change.<br> I have 116K now and have a slight lifter tick at first cold start of the day. I do not pull heavy loads very often.<br>RB22

  I started using pennzoil after watching Project Farm oil testing. &nbsp;Amzoil came out on top, &nbsp;it just barely outmatched pennzoil. &nbsp;Pennzoil is half the price.

  to bad this is old information, since pennzoil ultra platinum was changed from a GTL base, they changed this 1 or 2 months ago.
