  This is the single best video on advice for nature and wildlife photographers I have ever seen. More packed into this video than other excellent photographers have presented in an entire year. Thanks for sharing.

  Really good video.<br><br>I keep hearing from pros that the gear doesn&apos;t matter and it is refreshing to hear an actual expert pointing out what is obvious - it does. &nbsp;Get the gear that you need but remember that gear is not a substitute for skill.

  Tin Man, I&apos;ve watched several videos on your channel recently. This is my favorite yet as there&apos;s just so much good advice packed in one place. Since watching your channel I&apos;ve gone into the field with a plan to set up shots with good lighting and composition (not just spraying and praying when first seeing an animal). Now you&apos;ve made the great point that I need to stop being cheap with locations (I am usually picking the same spots near work or home) and really do my research to find and go to great spots at the right times. Thanks for sharing!

  This is a wonderful list. I was and am a naturalist/biologist first before I became a serious photographer. I do take exception with your insistence with &apos;the best gear&apos; (ie. expensive).For many, many years moving from student, to researcher, to professor and family person, there has to be balance in my life. Buying a $12,000 lens and $5,000 camera would mean too large a sacrifice in my life. &nbsp;I have won contests with gear that is a fraction of that. &nbsp;Further, there many types of nature photography and no not all of them are super popular. &nbsp;There are a lot fewer people who take in the beauty of an aphid than the raw power of a bear catching salmon. Or the magnificence and raw beauty of the life in a drop of pond water. I think everyone chasing the same subjects is pretty boring myself.
