Aussie here, Simon is my favorite English bowler, quick, swing, control. Awesome.

Absolute legend. Shame its career was cut short as it was. With his talent he could have easily played 75 - 100 test matches without his injury.

Awesome bowler. His role in England’s astonishing Ashes win in 2005 was huge. Too often overlooked. One of the saddest things that his body wouldn’t allow him to play more Tests. He really belonged.

I just loved watching Simon bowl. He was different to almost all other fast bowlers...to generate such pace from such a (seemingly) gentle run up.... Amazing

Regarding his advice on encouraging kids to bowl fast before control, I couldn't agree more. I had coaches always push for control until I met Ravi Pushpakumara who went the other way. Safe to say the World Cup winning quick knows best.

I had the honour or not, of facing this guy when I was 14. Oh my God, I could just hear the ball whistle past my nose. When I eventually made contact with the ball, the bat spun around like a roulette wheel.
