There is lore from a cut scene that explains Jack's soul being worth 100. He was originally a privateer under the EITC, but found out his cargo was 100 slaves. He freed them, and his ship got burned and sunk for it and he got branded as a pirate (hence the P scar on his forearm). He made a deal with Davy to raise his ship, now blackened from the flames, and the deal was that he could be her captain for ten years before Davy came to collect on the debt.

The fact that that "I've got a jar of dirt" singing taunt was completely improvized by Johnny Depp is hilarious to me. <br> <br>Also The fact that Bill Nighy was Davy Jones, as well as Viktor from Underworld, Rufus Scrimgeour from Harry Potter, and Howard Clifford from Pokémon: Detective Pikachu is MIND-BOGGLING. Quite the interesting career for that guy.

There’s actually a post credits scene at the end of the first movie (which I didn’t know about for YEARS) that shows the monkey grabbing a coin from the cursed chest, And then screeching and jumping at the camera. I think they All have post credits scenes
