One thing I love to do is buy a nice adjustable lamp stand I actually like, check the wattage, and then add a grow light like the sansi 36w bulbs

I just brought some new lamps 30 quid in black Friday. 30 for a sansi bulb, 60 quid for something that looks nice and is functional!

Thank you. Very helpful. I'm realising that after years of struggling, I've been getting the lighting wrong. I"m getting ready to redo my plant setup and invest in better lights. So it was really useful to see a non-sponsored, honest comparison of what's out there now. Thanks very much.

Thank you for doing the light meter! Agreed on the Barina's - that's the unfortunate thing about some of the less expensive lights on Amazon. They all advertise as giving great light but pop a light meter on them and you see the truth. I use my Barina's on a book shelf where the lights are really close to some low light plants. Mind blown by the Sansi lights and how bright they are for the $ value. Not beautiful but actually put out light for the price!

My plants also love soltech and the sansi 4000 or whatever it is. The barrinas are okay, as you said, they work alright when close.

The best low-cost option for light is to buy the bulbs and put them in an adjustable desk maps (or a medusa/floor lamp if needed, I have one that is fabulous for taller plants) that is the appropriate voltage. I use Govee mart plugs to schedule them to turn on and off at specific times so I never forget to turn them on or turn them off and I don't have to reschedule them after the power goes out like with the timers that come with grow lights. You should not put non-dimmable grow light bulbs into a dimmable lamp, though, as it will often just not work.

I use a range of Sansi and Barrina grow lights at home which give me great results. If you are looking for a cheaper option to the Mother vertical grow lights, Barrina have their T10 and T10 pro range. Very similar esthetic and function, but without the smart features and at a more afforable price. I have 4 and find the taller T10 pro great for climbers on poles.
