  Playing with a flipper is like playing with wireshark the first time, you suddenly see this massive volume of intricate wireless communication between machines that’s constantly happening all around you thousands of times a second. It’s a hidden layer to reality.<br><br>The reason people panic about it is that it exposes how much of our infrastructure relies on security-through-obscurity and how terrifying that can be.

  As a IT Security professional I picked up a load of the Hak5 stuff, Inc the Rubber Ducky and WiFi Pineapple. We used them for demonstrations to highlight some of the risks for staff like using unsecured WiFi.<br>We placed USB sticks in our carpark, and even with all our awareness programs, still had staff plugging them into works computers. Which of course led to us having words with the victims.

  A friend of mine got kicked out of our uni student accommodation as he &apos;borrowed&apos; the cleaners master keycard and downloaded it to his flipper zero. In hindsight it is a huge security risk if he had bad intentions however he used his power to sneak onto the roof of the large building at 4 in the morning to smoke a joint.<br><br>He got busted when security noticed strange activity in the logs from the cleaner at 4AM when the cleaner finished their shift 5 hours prior haha

  How is it possible that Mel is a perfectly accurate depiction of the stereotypical young female hacker, from the way she talks to how she&apos;s dressed and all. I can&apos;t go past it. She is a movie character out of a movie.

  Kudos to Adam for recognizing the spark in her eyes when she saw the device and giving an otherwise &quot;invisible&quot; member of his staff a chance to learn, grow, and eventually demonstrate ON CAMERA! Well done!

  Locksmith here. That physical key decoder is pretty cool.... but Mel, that KW1 in the corner means it&apos;s set for &quot;Kwikset&quot; (the most common cheap-junk keyway in the US). The key you were decoding was a Schlage 5 pin C keyway (second most common keyway in the US), so you need to set it for &quot;SC1&quot; to decode properly.<br><br>But that Flipper Zero, it&apos;s an amazing tool for access control I wish I&apos;d had years ago! The ability to decode 125kHz HID prox cards is such an incredible convenience. I was using a tedious setup of a ProxMark3 and laptop before, which worked, but wasn&apos;t at all easy to operate. My Flipper Zero though, I just pull it out of my pocket and go. Also, the capacity to write a copy to a blank T5577 card or fob is very.... useful....

  I got home from work at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8q2YVRiOAE&amp;t=690">11:30</a> a few nights ago with some snow on the ground. While I was clearing my sidewalks a cat approached me meowing a bunch. I was able to scan his chip and use the notify the owners that I have their animal for pick up and was able to get him reunited with his family.<br><br>I need to learn how to use a lot more of the features but I finally had a use that makes me happy I bought it

  Nmap was considered a &quot;hacker&quot; tool. It found machines on networks and identified them. Now it is one of the main tools for all network engineers.
