I always keep white flukes handy when the largemouth get really aggressive chasing baitfish. One late afternoon last summer, with the water surface like glass, the water began churning all around me. I quickly grabbed a fluke and in 10 minutes caught four largemouth. And then, about fifteen minutes after the feeding frenzy began, the water was once again completely calm.

Most of my success this yr has come on a super fluke; I was catchin but missin lots of bass until I started using the owner twist lock hook. Fluke is absolutely a fish catcher !

My favorite fluke rig is a short shank weedless gamagutsu neko hook throught the nose. A small split ring in the hook eye. Tie a short piece of braid to the split ring and tuck a smaller treble in the body cavity. Use a six or eight inch flouro to the ring and a small swivel to the main line. The action is crazy, gets close to 90% hook ups and ya lose very few hook ups. Almost all the fish are on the front hook. right behind top of the mouth.
