"If you don't know how to say no when you need to, your body will say it for you in the form of illness." ..that struck me.

This is the real reason why people get ill. No one is being true to themselves. People are putting up with jobs they hate, relationships they can’t stand, unbearable pressures of daily life & doing nothing about it.

my dad was the smartest, wisest, most hardworking man i knew but he carried much weight from generational trauma as a refugee with neglectful parents. he has always told me to take care of myself and put my health first that i oftened ignored. he passed suddenly last october at 59 from a flu-like illness that his body should've been able to handle, but couldn't likely due to a weakened immune system from stress. the doctors couldn't believe a man in his health condition to have passed so suddenly. i just turned 20 last month and i miss him everyday, but it took his passing for me to take his message seriously. i am wishing everyone here a wonderful healing journey, and blessings to all who have been struggling with physical ailments. i hope you all find the love in yourselves and others to fulfill the duty that you owe to yourself

"A healthy anger is nothing but a defense of your boundaries" resonated so deeply.

My bedtime prayer when I was in elementary school through middle school was for God to “help me be a good girl.” My mom taught me that prayer. And when I eventually moved in with relatives, she reminded me, “Be good.” I know she meant well, but I went from being a free spirited kid to a depressed teenager and jaded adult. “Being good” is a prison in trying to escape. “Being good” often means not speaking up, taking up space, or upsetting other people.

“Often what we value in other people is exactly what kills them in the first place.” Wow... just wow.

My rheumatologist asked me to read this book. I am SO lucky to have a doctor who understands the correlation between emotions, trauma and illness

Right now, there are people all over the world who are just like you. They're either lonely, they're missing somebody, they're depressed, they're hurt, they're scarred from the past, they're having personal issues no one knows about, they have secrets you wouldn't believe. They wish, they dream and they hope. And right now, they are sitting here reading these words, and I'm writing this for you so you don’t feel alone anymore. What really helped me start overcoming the pain and actually move toward my goals was reading Manifest the Unseen by Luna Rivers, it opened my eyes in ways I didn’t expect. Always remember, don’t be depressed about the past, don’t worry about the future, and just focus on today. ❤
