  Saves Doc&apos;s life at the festival. Slips Doc the hoverboard so he can save Clara on the train. Confronts and defeats Mad Dog which again saves Doc&apos;s life and destroys the tombstone. Go back and watch it again.

  Marty is not useless in Back to the Future III. &nbsp; It&apos;s just the main storyline switched &nbsp;from Marty to Doc and Clara.

  He&apos;s not useless, He woke up Dr Brown when he was knocked down. He survived a gun fight and he also participated in time travel at the end.

  I have to say this again. None of the movies are about Marty he is our guide through the adventure. 1 is about George, 2 is Biff, 3. Is about Doc

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4l4IvV2jRA&amp;t=522">8:42</a>, when Marty goes to 1885 the Delorean that doc was in had already been put in the mine, meaning there were now two Deloreans in 1885. Doc had no reason to remove the one from the mine and since he knew Marty was gonna need it in 1955 he would have just left it alone. Also, whether it had gas it or not is irrelevant as he would have drained all the fluids to prep it for long term storage.

  While Marty McFly is one of my favorite movie characters, I’ve seen the argument that he’s never really been the main character in any of the movies in the series. In part 1, it’s George’s story. He has to learn to stand up for himself, gain confidence and fight for the woman he loves. (That’s the power of love). Part 2 is Biff’s story. It shows how catastrophic the power of time travel could be in the wrong hands. How far someone would be willing to go to gain money and power. Then part 3 is Doc’s story. Him learning to let love in while juggling his duty to get home and honor the timeline

  I&apos;d hardly call him useless. He saved Doc&apos;s life at the festival and came through at the gunfight with Buford.

  They explained in the movie that Doc saving Clara doesn&apos;t alter the future because she was going to die in that fall.
