  The progression of speed and extensions is amazing.  That being said, as a dancer from the 70's, I can hardly stand and walk across the room in this past decade for me.  My concern is for these ladies is for their future physical health.

  It&apos;s funny, literally every generation gets better technically, and then the older generations lament how &quot;it&apos;s all gymnastics&quot;. I&apos;d have to search to find it, but I saw a video recently where someone was lamenting in the early 1900s about how it was all technique and &quot;losing its soul&quot;. I was a dancer in the 90s (the 1990s, lol), and I remember old critics then making the same criticisms about Sylvie Guillem, despite that she is both technically amazing and incredibly charismatic and alluring. Personally, I&apos;m amazed at what kids can do these days. The fact is you can be both amazing technically and dance from the soul. Look at dancers like Natalia Osipova, Marianela Nunez, Ivan Vasiliev, Chloe Misseldine, just to name a few of my faves - all jaw-dropping incredible technically and yet some of the best actors and performers to grace the ballet stage.<br><br>So yeah yeah, just like clockwork, new generations keep getting better, and everyone older bitches about how it&apos;s all just extensions and pirouettes - again.

  На этом же самом месте в репетиционном зале в 1990 я сдавала экзамен. Через 16 дет тазоьедренный сустав &nbsp;сказал: &quot;Всё, &nbsp;хватит&quot;. Потому смотрю с содроганием на ронды с такой скоростью и высотой.

  as a non dancer i find the historic ones far more beautiful. to me they are more human. the thinness of modern dancers i also find disconcerting

  技術力は現代になるに従って上がってるんだろうけど、なんだろ現代より昔の方が心惹かれる物がある。<br>上手く語言化出来ないけど

  Уважемые комментаторы!<br>На последнем видео запечатлен выпускной экзамен в академии балета имени Агриппины Вагановой в Санкт-Петербурге. Естественно, что движения девушек максимально синхронны и лишены индивидуальности. Но видео хорошо демонстрирует усложнение техники и повышение требований к артистам балета с течением времени.

  The latter videos are impressive, but as a dancer, I don&apos;t think repeating that movement that many times is healthy, especially at that speed. It&apos;s one thing to work hard and become a very strong dancer/athlete, it&apos;s another thing to overwork the body, which will lead to many injuries.
