  I knew about the egg shell, coffee grinds, banana peels, and epson salt but never knew how to use them. I am very surprised about the alfalfa! I freeze my bananas, when they are over ripe, to make banana bread. Once they are defrosted, can they be used in the same way, after they dry out of course? Can’t wait to start over with all this new information!

  I&apos;m from Western Cape, South Africa. &nbsp;Coastal town, sometimes salty wind.... &nbsp;told you can&apos;t grow roses and I&apos;ll admit that I have had some disasters except when planting in pots - poor, dead soil. &nbsp;However, I have been digging in home made compost which has helped a lot. &nbsp;I plan on taking my egg shells, coffee, banana peels and hold them separately for roses and my 2 lemon trees. &nbsp;Thank you for your great advice! &nbsp;A
