  I come back and listen to this periodically and it amazes me every time how scuzzy John has always been never in my life have I asked a co-worker or a boss to borrow money on a routine basis if at all

  John is a lowlife lying dirtbag. That is a given. Howard should be absolutely and totally embarrassed that his executive producer could not take a new employee to dinner though. We're talking about a guy that everyone knew of as being "The rock star guy.". It wasn't a fake persona either. Howard traveled with private jets on lavish vacations, during hurricanes he evacuated house cats to different home in different States, he has a personal limo driver that took him everywhere everyday and even stayed on scene until the moment that Howard was ready to leave, etc. Nevermind the fact that Gary should have had a business credit card to use with co-workers and clients, he was so broke that he could not get an unplanned meal without deciding how it would impact his rent or car payment that month. This should have made Howard feel shame and sleaze so bad that he didn't want to even talk about it. On top of all of it, he got angry when they worked their second and third jobs. He made bits out of it and literally made even more money discussing how poor his staff was.

  John is those friends who kind of force their friendship upon you but you know you won't remain friends with them forever or that you don't really like them as much as they think you do. He's just too dumb to realize it

  Does Howard realize his parents giving him 5$ a wk in the late 60s is equivalent to almost $50 today!!! Stern was spoiled and very well taken care of by mom and dad!!!

  The brilliance of this show was unparalleled. I feel lucky to have been listening live from 1992 to 2009. Once Artie left and Robin stopped doing the news, the show began to slip. Then COVID came and they never went back to the studio. 😩
