Little Heroes Who Saved Lives: What Is Life After Retirement for Rescue Dogs? Kim Tae-hyun, a firefighting helicopter pilot for the Capital Region 119 Special Rescue Team of the Central 119 Rescue Headquarters, and his wife, Gong Jeong-ah, adopted Joe, a 119 rescue dog who retired after four years of service. Joe was an ace rescue dog during his active duty, capable of successfully completing high-difficulty helicopter rescue training and even making an international deployment to the Philippines to search for buried victims following a typhoon that caused significant damage. However, forced into early retirement due to joint issues, Joe is now living a second life as a companion dog in the arms of his family. Recently, however, his leg health has deteriorated to the point where he collapses immediately even when going out for walks, a sport he used to enjoy. Then, someone familiar meets Joe's guardian! It is none other than the guardian of two other retired rescue dogs, Dasol and Suan. Dasol is a clone of Suan, and the two were adopted into the same home and have been spending happy days together... But then...! Dad Suan looks unrecognizable. He is unable to stand without a wheelchair and has lost his sight in both eyes. Two years ago, Suan was rushed to the hospital because his gait was abnormal. An MRI revealed he had meningitis, rendering him unable to walk properly. Furthermore, his condition has progressively worsened; he is now unable to relieve himself, and daily life is difficult without 24-hour care from his guardians. Life as a rescue dog has always been a constant source of tension. The guardians hope that at least after retirement, he can live a healthy and happy life. Will these retired rescue dogs be able to regain a healthy daily life? Joe and Suan are experiencing difficulties in their daily lives. What will the examination results be? Teacher Seol has stepped forward to check the health of the retired rescue dogs. Even to the naked eye, the dogs appear to have difficulty moving. Moreover, Joe is 13 and Suan is 17, so concerns are high regarding whether they can regain their health. First, Teacher Seol examines the condition of Joe's legs while observing his daily routine! As an elderly dog, it is inevitable that his joints will weaken, but with a keen eye, the veterinarian identifies the reason why Joe's joints are inevitably under strain! Joe undergoes X-rays to assess his condition more accurately, and it turns out that his front and hind legs are hurting for different reasons... What on earth is the cause of Joe's leg pain? Meanwhile, Dr. Seol checks on Suan's daily life. He cannot help but admire the guardian who has cared for Suan with the utmost devotion for a full two years. Despite being unable to move on his own, Suan's body is remarkably clean, without a single bedsore. It is said that the fact that the elderly Suan has been able to live this long was only possible thanks to the guardian's efforts. However, heartbreaking news is heard from the veterinarian... Suan's guardian's face darkens rapidly...
