  I agree 100 about settling in gradually in a new place ! Not just campsites even while travelling I don't like arriving after dark at all. Unfortunately many times on a journey you end up breaking journey at dusk or when the sun's just about set and it's unfamiliar! Things always seem much better in the mornings but then you have to leave which is a pity. We try to stay 2 days but sometimes that's not practical

  Great video, Folkers — I really enjoyed it! What a beautiful part of the world. I attended a wedding at Cathedral Peak Hotel many years ago and spent some wonderful days hiking in the mountains afterwards. It brought back some great memories.<br><br>I can really relate to what you say about being out there on your own. Sometimes you do feel that you’re missing out on something for a little while, simply because there’s no one there to share the experience with. And arriving at camp after dark can certainly add another dimension to the adventure!
