  Mechatronics engineer and 7 year UAV builder here,<br>the patterns in your image are commonly known as &quot;jello&quot; in the fpv drone world. It&apos;s a result of high frequency oscillations from the drone adding up and moving the camera back and forth throughout the frame that&apos;s being captured by the sensor. It&apos;s fixed by stopping your camera from flapping about but it can&apos;t be tied down too rigidly either. This is why the drone&apos;s camera is held by a system of rubber strips to &quot;isolate&quot; it from vibrations as you would with electronics from a dirty PSU voltage.

  I dont think UAV manufacturers are worried about some guy strapping a shitty camera to a shitty drone and streaming low-res distorted video over an unstable and insecure link over not even 50 meters.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmLE9BT76Pc&amp;t=544">9:04</a> One small correction, Its not required for every aircraft, only aircraft operating in certain airspace or near certain airports. Now basically all big planes will be, and its basically only small general aviation planes away from cities that will not, but its not required for all.
