I think a great idea would be to have one store that is basically a used ship store that just has the old retired ships in it. Want an Aurora CL go to Crazy Chris’ Ship Emporium. The catch, you have to bring all the components. It would be interesting to have the old models setup in a used ship lot that us can purchased with aUEC.

They really gotta bring in some serious creativity for the Galaxy (modules) to be competitive. This past few months has really dwindled much hope for it. Especially with how empty the year has been for realising, let alone fabricating, features to actually distinguish ships from their multiple clone-like designs :/

I wouldn’t be surprised if we see an uplift in size for the Connie—from 610m³ to 700 or even 800m³—because the Hermes is not only larger, but it’s supposed to be the lesser of the two ships. With the Galaxy positioned as the next step up from the Constellation, it makes sense that if the Galaxy gets the overall buff people expect (to make it more competitive in its modular roles), the Connie should follow the same trajectory.

From a design standpoint, I really liked Grim’s fusion concept: the first 60% of the ship being Hermes, and the last 40% retaining the classic Constellation profile. To simplify CIG’s workload even more, ditching the snub attachment and moving to a proper snub hangar feels like the right call. If they stick with the attachment system and the Skylark becomes the dedicated snub, then we’d need to see a full lineup of variants—exploration, shuttle, medical, maybe even combat—to properly serve both the Connie and the upcoming Galaxy.

As for the Phoenix, IMO it should shift away from “luxury transport/exploration” and toward communications and diplomacy. I get the luxury angle, but that niche is better left to Origin. The Phoenix doesn’t need to lose its bar, but the hot tub can go. I’d rather see it gain a conference room, a war room, and an executive office—something that feels like a premium command-and-diplomacy platform rather than a flying spa.

If the argument is that CIG needs to sell in-game assets rather than actual products to fund development, and that we're not really buying ships—we're merely supporting the project—then why does CIG supposedly need to sell us the specific ship we want?

If we're just supporters handing over money so they can make the game, then theoretically the item shouldn't matter at all. Ship, skin, land claim, digital toaster—whatever. The people who genuinely just want to support the project should be perfectly happy to buy whatever CIG decides to sell.

But apparently that's not how it works. They need to sell the exact ships people want, at increasingly elaborate prices, because... we're not buying ships, we're supporting development.

That's some impressive financial philosophy: "You're not buying the product, you're supporting the project. Now please choose which $300 product you want to support the project with."

At some point, we have to stop pretending the ship isn't the product just because calling it a "pledge" makes the accounting sound nicer.

I’d love a smaller galaxy ship make it the new Connie one ship but modular

I take serious issue with reasoning that CIG 'need' ship sales to get paid to do it. Well, what were the previous 200 ship sales for? What happened to our investments? If it's all been taken away and put into a seperate project (SQ42) then that's their problem for scope creeping and remaking the same game seven times over.

Instead of releasing it once the vision was embraced (feature complete!!) and focusing the investments into delivering feasable promises, upgrades, remodelling and features for things they already signed off on!

Love the idea of a MKV, if they don’t lower the firepower, it will be the ultimate daily solo ship

CIG already stated with the Aurora they they plan for the mk 1 version to be available in game via other means.
So we will likely either see them as mission rewards or blueprints, just give them time.

I think the best thing that they can do, is bring out a new ship, or a new variant. But also, make sure you're updating the ancient ones too.
