  Genichiro is the entrance exam, the midterms, and the finals. Genichiro appears a the first phase of the final boss fight, just to show you how much you&apos;ve grown... because if you&apos;ve learned your lessons, that first phase is pathetically easy. Then the true final exam taker pulls out his spear and his glock.

  The funny thing is, Sekrio is the first game from Software I ever played and tried, so I didn’t have the Soul’s game mentality, which helped me a lot

  I am 49 yo and just beat genichiro last week. it took me like 3 hrs but not all at once. for the first like 10 attempts i just started thinking i was just too old and my reflexes were just that far gone. Then i made it past the first stage after some tutorials on how, without cheese. Gave me the drive to push through.

People think &quot;hesitation is defeat&quot; means &quot;do more stuff,&quot; but it actually means do less. Move less, heal less, jump less, basically do nothing with your thumbs except scoot forward or back. The best way to apply pressure is to just stand there, in his face. <br><br>And whenever you&apos;re not sure, tap R1 once. Your attack can serve as &quot;defense&quot; either by hitting him and cancelling his move, or by forcing him to cancel his move in favor of a block, or by preventing him from charging up a big move.

  I did find that the bullfight taught me something, the fact that Sekiro can run circles around almost all opponents, he&apos;s faster and has infinite stamina.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bb4tGP9SW0o&amp;t=423">7:03</a> The bull actually taught me that you can parry attacks that you wouldn&apos;t normally be able to block in previous souls games.<br><br>I started by trying to dodge de bull&apos;s charge hoping it would get tired and rest. When that strategy failed I just tried to deflect. I did not try this first because I thought he was just going to roll over me just like that armored bull in the DS1 chapel entrance. But nope. Here, you can deflect almost anything.
