  you are the best reviewer on YouTube i’ve seen. Tone, timing, not screaming at us, knowledge, and genuine appreciation of a superlative product. I just luckily got my lovely black Mazzer Philos and had my first espresso from my familiar setup this morning. Wow! I didnt’ need a new machine i needed a new grinder. I have an A53 Mini Lucca and was with an XL Mignon Speciale. Amelia at Clive Coffee steered me here when the Ode Fellow for cold brew grinding i added in to the mix was an immediate failure. I needed a machine that would do both seamlessly but didnt’ realize the quality impact to espresso i would receive—maybe twice as good this first morning with no adjustments from mid range espresso, same everything else as before. I am incredibly impressed with Mazzer and the Philos and you. Thank you.

  Such a great review! It's so good that it made me subscribe to your channel, order the Philos, and that part at the end where you showed what the grinder would look like beside a few machines made me decide on the Profitec Ride!

  I’ve owned mine since day one of sales availability in the US. My cabinets are only 16 inches above the counter top and I really like the rear adjustment. It’s easy to see and use, it never gets bumped or touched by a curious visitor, and I can clean the grinder quickly and easily while keeping the exact settings.<br><br>I think that the only people who dislike the rear adjustment have never owned the grinder. Some people really love to spout their opinions!<br><br>The only difference in my usage compared to the review is that I prefer to do hot starts. 😀 Clearly, it works well either way.<br><br>I roast at home, and we often do cuppings. This grinder is perfect for this use case. I clean it, then run a few beans to prime it and throw the grinds away. Then I grind the standard 8.5g and clean the chute with the dose clearer. Rinse and repeat with the other samples. The ability to clean the chute and have low retention for single doses is excellent.

  That was an awesome no nonsense review….been wanting to see how this grinder would pair up looks wise with different machines for a bundle purchase so nice touch there that you don’t often see.

  I have actually never dosed the beans directly into the burr chamber. I always put them on top of the switch and then put on the plastic lid, to have a hot start.

  Had the philos for around a year now, i200d burrs. Amazing grinder and I’m still discovering just how much I can optimise my espresso with it.

  The question I have yet to see answered about this grinder refers to its dimensions. Many have noted it looks like a 84mm grinder from its girth. Has Mazzer said why &nbsp;it&apos;s so chunky? Aesthietics? Or something functional? Just curious.
