  In my opinion, the strongest conduits are the city power grids that survived Cole constantly and unexpectedly draining electricity from. Infrastructure maintenance and preparation is no joke.

  Augustine&apos;s power-supression thing is indeed stupid-OP and very &quot;one off&quot; feeling. Kessler&apos;s time travel seemed to basically take it out of him, as if he couldn&apos;t do it again.<br><br>Conduits as a whole are really cool. They&apos;re so varied, and not just in their esoteric powers but their literal physicality. There&apos;s a conduit like Cole who can take literal tons of bludgeoning punishment from debris and cars, but there&apos;s also conduits who were attacked and killed by unarmed human lynch mobs. I like the general idea that if a conduit gets going and has their power for a few weeks, months, even years, they get to crazy heights.

  So for why Kessler didn&apos;t just kill John, in Kessler&apos;s timeline he constantly ran from the beast, so I think it&apos;s fairly likely Kessler never knew John was the beast

  I always thought that cuffing a Conduit&apos;s hands was like their weakness, like even in the comics if Cole has his hands restrained he can&apos;t use his powers.<br><br>And I think it&apos;s bc Conduits need their hands to use their powers. Hands are a big symbol for conduits, and their unofficial logo is a stick figure with glowing hands.<br><br>Maybe that&apos;s why Kessler wasn&apos;t as powerful as Cole, since his right hand is a prosthetic (maybe)

  I hope that the question of &quot;why Kessler didn&apos;t go back in time and just kill John?&quot; is a joke because Kassler had no idea who became The Beast in his time and I have a feeling that The Beast isn&apos;t just John, but rather a whole list of possible candidates as The Beast was designed to show up anyone to bring about a Conduit only world or human only world.

  In defense of Kuo, between her, Cole, and Nix, she had the least amount of time to get acclimated with her powers. Not to mention she herself says how agonizing the process of her obtaining the powers were. Using them was probably like rubbing salt in the wound. Also, she&apos;s similar to Eugene in that her personality type probably held her back. She was a staunch NSA agent turned superhero overnight, going from covert subtlety to out in the open fighting is a big heel turn. Cole and Nix were already hotheads to an extent.

  Imo Kesler didn&apos;t go back in time to kill John because he thought <br><br>&quot;OK i kill John before he ever becomes the beast and destroy the world, but maybe the beast Will appear anyway, maybe in a different form, maybe in a different person, maybe later, maybe earlier, and then we&apos;re back to square one. But if i push Cole to be strong enough to defeat the beast, that means if it shows up, he&apos;ll be defeated, if something else shows up, they&apos;ll be defeated to. If i make Cole strong enough, no matter what threatens the world, he&apos;ll take it down&quot;<br><br>That&apos;s how i justify it, even if i know that the real reason is just &quot;he does that, there is no game, so stfu about it okayyyy ?&quot;

  You also have to keep in mind that Kessler is incredibly old compared to Cole when he finally fights him.<br><br>He was already a grown man when he teleported back in time, and he went far back enough that Alden was still a child, and Alden seems to be pretty old. This man could&apos;ve easily lived a hundred years putting himself through stress no one should ever have to endure.

  just on your point about the beast.<br>Given Cole can become the beast in some endings I think it&apos;s less of a &quot;this person becomes the beast&quot; and more &quot;the beast is inevitable&quot;.<br><br>I wouldn&apos;t be surprised if Kessler pulled a Dr. Strange and explored around alternate timelines and buffing a past version of himself was his best chance against an inevitable beast.
