If you’re like me and my husband and had been born into and raised in the chaos and confusion of the Charismatic Renewal movement and all of the bondage that is placed upon you in that mind set and theology, you would be thanking Dr MacArthur for this conference and for writing the book Strange Fire. I was so sorry to hear of his passing, and I wrote on my social media platform that I will always remember Dr MacArthur first for writing that book and helping me to see the truth and the true work of the Holy Spirit and deprogram from a life time of that unbiblical nonsense being put in my head. I own it - I didn’t know my Bible. But I do now and am learning more each day. Thank God a pastor took his call and the Scriptures seriously enough to care for Christ’s sheep. I will always be grateful! 🩷

The Strange Fire conference changed my life.... Left charismatic churches and found a loving baptist church. I've been able to know God deeper than just personal experiences and feelings 🙌

This man has guts. He has done the unthinkable - he has challenged the Charismatic movement!! His SF conference was the best thing I have ever come across in explaining the issues. I wish he had done this years ago - and saved me from all the heartache and failed prophecies I experienced as a Charismatic. Thank you Lord Jesus for this man and those who stood with him at SF.

Just listened to this sermon again. Listening to John MacArthur preach the word of God will always make me feel blessed. Thank you Father for the gift of your precious Son, the Lord Jesus, and His gift of the Holy Spirit through you Father.

He has made a stand for the Gospel in the midst of all the false teaching in the body of Christ today

"My people perish for lack of knowledge." Hosea 4:6
Thank you, dear Lord for keeping us close to You, for not letting us fall into this heresy.
Thank you, Pastor John for your clear and unapologetic defense of the Word of God.
As a church musician it's lovely to hear the defense of our spiritual heritage in the Great Hymns of praise we have loved for centuries.

God Bless you John MacArthur 🙏🏼
My eyes have recently been opened after being in the charismatic church for 23 years.
I am totally shocked, embarrassed, disappointed (in myself mainly for not knowing the word in context) ashamed because of all the people I have influenced.
On the positive side I am set free. I feel born again, again. A load has been taken off that I didn’t even realise was there. This is true freedom in Christ. Wow!! And it’s so easy! Matt 11:28.
I am reading the Bible now like never before. I didn’t even really know what context meant 🤦🏻‍♀️
The Charismatic Movement filled me with self, emotions, imagination, dreams, living in hope and trust from all the words and prophecies I received, waiting patiently for them to come to pass and never did.
But you still live in hope because if not, you lack faith and trust.
Now coming out of it I realise I was living in make believe, which as much as I loved and served faithfully, I was actually very self centred, waiting for all my desires, hopes, prophecies and words to come to pass. So extremely messed up. So deceived. And I would defend this movement and think the person I am now (in the truth and set free) was actually the deceived one and not lead by the Holy Spirit or didn’t have the Holy Spirit at all.
I have never repented so much much in my life.
I now live for Christ and Christ alone and I’m soooo excited and very humbled and grateful to our beautiful sovereign God.
I am also very grateful for all the biblical preachers 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
John MacArthur, Billy Crone, Justin Peters, Voddie Baucham, Susan Heck and many many more.
I humbly thank you 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🥰

I was 35 years in the Charismatic movement. It took a major confrontation with Biblical truth and an exposure to the plainly ridiculous nature of Charismaticism to smack the heresy out of me. Thanks be to God!!
