  Sandersville is my hometown  but they don't talk about how the mining is poisoning the water causing health issues long term.  They tried to hide the study that was done about it and people still don't know.  Lots of family work in the chalk industry is what we call it down there.

  This is all great and all, but as a GA resident generally- it doesn’t help anybody except for those living or working near or within that industry.  I am from Georgia, and as a teenager, I couldn’t wait to leave this state for a new beginning.  The US Navy helped me do that, and changed the course of my life forever.  It took me until I was 40 years old to realize that I wanted to go back home.  I love my home state.  Interesting topics, all true, but doesn’t apply to the entire population of Georgia.

  Kaolin is the main ingredient in Kaopectate, the anti-diarrheal medicine. That clay will stop you up quickly, stopping the "squirts".

  I worked at Mulcoa in Andersonville ga. for a little over 6 years. We mined and processed that white gold 24/7 !<br>I can tell you they MADE THE MONEY like no other place I have ever heard of or seen.

  Trees in the Okefenokee swamp are not rooted in and held up by the floating masses which can only hold the weight of humans; they are rooted in the dirt below and are mostly cyprus from which the tannin stains the water to look like Coke, not just the rotting vegetation. Salt marsh has green saw grass, not golden; we always called it saw grass because the tall blades have tiny toothed edges that will cut your hands if you grab them to steady a boat. Never heard of the Georgia Bite. Gwinnett County, part of metropolitan Atlanta has building codes that require earthquake reinforcement measures. The Georgia state house&apos;s dome is covered in Dahlonega mined gold as well.
