  I am a director but also a massage therapist.  I teach both theatre and Reiki. I am amazed again and again how energy work and acting overlap!❤

  Only Stella studied with Stanislavski, Strasberg saw his company work but did not study with him. &nbsp;Stanislavski at that time changed his approach and <br><br>taught what Stella learned from him and returned to ny and introduced it to the Group theater

  This is a great clip, but i had to laugh when you said &quot;the guy who played lincoln,&quot; - how can you be conducting an acting interview and not know his name is Daniel Day Lewis!!! Thats like talking about basketball and saying &quot;that guy that played on the chicago bulls in the 90s.&quot; 😂

  Thank you for spreading the word about Stella Adler. I was in her LA summer class. Twice. Stella and Strassberg were at odds. The latter taught &quot;sense memory.&quot; Stella, &quot;the imagination.&quot; The term method acting came directly from Stanislavsky. but became inseparable from The Studio in New York, under the direction of Lee Strassberg. Right or wrong, the term method acting was credited allmost solely to Strasberg. He took that on as his own. Which makes me wonder why you would call this class The Stella Adler Acting Method. <br>I think Stella deserves, at least, a clarification, which is hard to do after you&apos;ve put the word in your title.

  That seems to be the big thing now which is to some degree bashing Method acting, saying it&apos;s good but not to the detriment of the person. So not true. Every field, position there are those who want to do better than good. Bring it to another level. And yes, sometimes it cross&apos;s over into real life. That&apos;s with anything. Method acting doesn&apos;t teach that. It does teach to try and create brilliant characters, but is individual in what that means. <br>Never does Method acting say to get drunk to feel how that feels, or drugs, it&apos;s to find substitutes. It never said to gain weight if playing someone heavier. Robert DeNiro would do that, but that was him.. His choice. Daniel Day Lewis spent a year as Lincoln , in character before shooting. No one said an actor should do that. <br>Strasberg&apos;s method acting I would say is the most complete. Meisner technique is brilliant, but mainly on the level of being truthful, honest,reacting. Strasberg used everything. Sadly, when someone who doesn&apos;t know tries to define method they say using personal experiences through sense memory/emotional recall. That&apos;s not true. Emotional recall is one exercise that is taught, but Strasberg always said it&apos;s when nothing else is working. <br>But he used everything, including script breakdown, character work. He would do improv&apos;s, animal exercises (to create character), song and dance (for the internal to meet the external), &nbsp;He kept on growing, it was never just one thing. One technique.

  The idea that &quot;there&apos;s a full-proof plan&quot; is a bit dangerous, isn&apos;t it? As if someone can read Adler and work out a &quot;Step 1 - Step 2 - Step 3&quot; plan. There are processes, and there are tools, but Stella Adler certainly didn&apos;t try and didn&apos;t even suggest that it was possible to create a &quot;flow chart&quot; for actors.
