John Williams said that in the early years he practiced 30 minutes every day. He also said that knowing what you are doing while practicing is vital.

As a psychologist, I would say it’s brilliant that his father had him just hold the guitar before he ever tried to play anything on it, because that establishes holding the guitar in a really relaxed natural way and not getting tension the way you do when you try to play something difficult

God Bless John Williams. He is such a gentleman. And his recordings will inspire generations. In my opinion the greatest classic guitarist of the 20th century.

Interesting how my favourite guitarist doesn't apply proper posture in part one, whilst sitting on a chair normally.<br>So glad he's actually human!

I paused this wonderful interview with one of my childhood heroes of the classical guitar amongst other luminaries of the period like Julian Bream who was featured with John Williams on recordings in duets together. Such an honor to hear his personal story. Bravo tutti!
