  Some conductors keep the orchestra together. Others make the music come alive. Barbara Hannigan does both. Wonderful performance.

  Astounding! I didn&apos;t really like Beethoven for a very long time; there are so many heavy-handed versions all over... I truly apprecitated and understood his music first with Szell, then Markevitch. Precision and fire, yet never heavy. Passionate, full of light. Old Ludwig was a revolutionary and that needs to show! This amazing performance reminded me of the best in Szell and Markevitch. &apos;Nuff said! Well, yes, on top of that, she is an amazing soprano...

  Underbara Barbara Hannigan sköter det här perfekt! Och Göteborgs Symfoniker levererar en underbar tolknig av Beethovens underbara musik. Tack också filmarna för att följa musiken perfekt. En verklig upplevelse!

  Cette version de la 4 m&apos;a apporté un sentiment de bonheur extrême que j&apos;avais oublié. Merci à l&apos;orchestre et à sa magnifique cheffe (je n&apos;écoute que des cheffes). Bravo et merci.

  I like it when the conductor wears concert black. &nbsp;To me it indicates unity with the musicians and deference to the music, which is the real star of the show.

  Sandwiched between the Eroica and the powerful Fifth, the underrated Fourth still ranks above my top-3 personal Beethoven favorites (5th, 7th, 4th, with Eroica and 9th close behind).
