  What&apos;s selling me about the weight of that maul is how you&apos;re usually able to talk while you&apos;re doing your pole skills, but a few swings of that hammer is one of the few things that&apos;s left you winded

  I do like that Pathfinder has sling staves. It&apos;s a rare weapon to see in fantasy so it&apos;s nice to see.

  Since you are talking fantasy here: I&apos;ve also fought <i><b>underwater</b></i><b></b> with a cast bronce trident (I&apos;m a medieval reenactor AND a SSI-certified merman - <i>of course</i> I have), and in my experience it works surprisingly well for that traditional role. Holdin it near the head at close range allows for quite close work, and sliding it down the hand like a Japanese yari gives you a lot of instant reach. Plus, it actually has edges on the outside so it works as a cutting weapon. And once out of the water, I cat attest the same things seen in the video: if it grabs a weapon or a hand, it&apos;s quite difficult for the rival to free it. GETTING it to grab something is not as easy because <i>everyone</i> expects that attack, but you sometimes wind up with a bind- and in a trident vs trident bind, the winner is the fastest one to drop it and draw the knife...

  It&apos;s funny to me that the &quot;a lot bigger and a lot heavier&quot; hammer you used to demonstrate how unwieldy it is, would actually be like a light one-hander in most fantasy RPGs.

  One of my favorite facts is that an impact from a well-trained slinger&apos;s rock can do as much damage as a 9mm pistol - meaning David and Goliath is effectively a story about bringing a gun to a knife fight.
